 BALULENI SAFARI LODGE, the best in self-catering accommodation, is situated in big 5 country along the shore of the Olifants River in the private section of the Kruger National Park, Balule. The lodge consists of the MAIN HOUSE and the FAMILY COTTAGE. Kindly note the nearest restaurant facilities are one hour’s drive away, but guests are welcome to order meals in advance prior to their arrival from the owner, Elke, who is a Cordon-Bleu Chef. We also offer dinner, bed, and breakfast.

THE MAIN HOUSE  provides luxury furnished self-catering accommodation, with river view, and consists of 5 double bedrooms of which 2 bedrooms each have a double and a single bed. There are two full bathrooms, a fully equiped kitchen (with eye-level oven, electricity/gas stove, microwave, three fridges/freezers, and dishwasher), lounge, dining room, balcony, wooden deck with swimming pool , braai-area overlooking the Olifants River.  It is personally and tastefully decorated and has a homely, yet elegant feel to it. Oil paintings of the Bushveld, painted by the owner, grace the walls. We accept bookings from 2 to 12 people and the Main House is available exclusively to you. You are not sharing with other guests.  We provide all linen and towels and it is serviced daily. Laundry facility is available.

THE FAMILY COTTAGE  provides self-catering accommodation and has 4 bedrooms (one queen size, two double, and one with 2 single beds), 2 private bathrooms, fully equipped kitchen (gas stove/oven, microwave, two fridge/freezers), open plan with lounge and bar area, verandah, thatch lapa with braai (grill), and pool. The cottage is fully furnished and has a river view. We accept bookings from 2 to 8 people and it is available exclusively to you. You do not share the cottage with other guests. We provide all linen and towels and the cottage is serviced daily. Laundry facility is available.

Together groups of up to 20 people can be accommodated in the Main House and Family Cottage.

The river is visible, whether you are sitting in the lounges, the dining rooms, balcony, or the veranda, and animal sightings are a daily occurrence. Vervet monkeys, hippos, bushbuck, warthogs, porcupines, elephants, kudu, waterbuck, crocodiles, impala, giraffes, baboons, Egyptian geese, fish eagle, lion, genet, and jackal, have been seen from time to time at the river front and around the lodge. Kindly note you are in the wild and animals are not caged in or in camps, therefore animals are not available on request: It is a matter of being at the right place on the right time

 Baluleni Safari Lodge is the ideal place to relax and unwind in total privacy, but is also situated between Orpen and Phalaborwa Gates of the public section of the Kruger Park, and offers you the opportunity to visit many of the tourist attractions.

The public section of the Kruger National Park, surrounding towns, and other activities such as the Cheetah Breeding Project, Panorama Route, Moholoholo Rehabilitation Centre, or Jessica the tame Hippo, Tshukudu for breakfast walk with lion and game drives, boat trips on the Blydepoort Canyon Dam, are within a short driving distance. Game drives can also be arranged departing from the lodge. No private game drives are allowed. All Children to be 24/7 under Parental Supervision (Big 5 area and no fences around the lodge). All children are charged as adults.

Access to the lodge is via a 12 kilometer dirt road (35 minutes) and although it is at times passable by normal car, it is recommended to travel with a vehicle with higher ground clearance. Once you have entered the gate you are in big 5 country and already on your own “game drive” towards the lodge.
